If you have read my blog for a while you may have seen pictures of my beloved cat Tank. I have two cats Tank and Earl, Tank was definitely the "momma's boy" and Earl playful and more independent. I got them both about 5 years ago for a shelter in Northern Wisconsin - I wanted 2 cats so badly having never been able to have one growing up.

They are very good kitties - and anyone who ever met them commented on how calm and nice they are. I talked about Tank more on the blog because he always sat next to me while I worked. And so 2 nights ago I noticed he was breathing oddly and I had a bad enough feeling I took him to the vet first thing in the morning, the vet sent me to the emergency hospital and at 1:30pm today I had to put him down. He had a very large aggressive tumor and it had taken over much of his intestine areas and caused his lung cavity to fill with fluid. I am brokenhearted. Earl seems to know I need a friend as he has been filling Tank's "spot" by my side all night. I don't know that I will blog for a few days because I just can't sit in the spot and do my thing while the memory of him is so raw. I loved that furry guy so much and he will be missed terribly.

I'm very sorry you lost a dear friend. I hope you feel better soon, It's never easy losing a friend(with or without fur).

I'm so, so sorry to hear this. Nothing hurts more than losing a friend and pets definitely count. I hope in time the pain lessens a little and you can smile at your happy memories of him. ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry Jasmine :( Losing a pet is like losing a family member. I used to have two cats and when one died it was so heartbreaking seeing the other cat grieve too :(

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss:( I lost my Pomeranian on the first of the year and it was (still) very hard. Pets become such a huge part of our lives:(
