April Ipsy Bag reveal!

Hello,

Today I got my Ipsy bag!  yea!!!

This month's theme was "Beauty Rocks" it's Coachella season and no one, I mean no one wants us to forget.  Some of of us are not big Coachella fans ok!  There I said it - now everyone can know how uncool I am :)

None the less, there was lots of fun stuff inside...

Some Big Sexy Hair "Root Pump" - it's more voluminizing hairspray - in a travel size and with my new hair ambitions - this is perfect :)  Value $6.00

Dr brandt microdermabrasion - also great for travel and I have few trips coming up and at $78 for 2 oz I would really want to try before I buy anyways!  Value $9.75

And for all the Urban Decay Junkie's - a 24/7 "Velvet" pencil in Black Velvet -  "Ideal for smoky-eye fanatics, this perfectly plush formula has extra powder, making it ideal for blending into a soft, smoky, matte finish. It glides on precisely, adding rich definition for rimmed eyes. It’s waterproof for long-lasting wear."  This is actually perfect for my easy smokey eye technique!  Watch the vid HERE.  Value $8.

I have been searching for a nude for pale girls - so I was excited  to see the Mary Kay @ Play lip gloss in "Teddy Bare":

It's rather opaque surprisingly.  It does make a nude lip - I don't know how I feel about it - I'm so pale so I would need to wear it with a lot of bronzer - but I want to make it work.  Value $10

And finally a Coachella worth nail polish...
It's the lighter blue swatch - I just wanted to see how it stacked up next to Orly "Macabre Masquerade"

It's a Rainbow Honey polish from their Midnight Garden Collection called "Midnight Fountain".
It's a blue tinted base with Teal, Blue and silver glitter - I don't know that I would wear this alone - I am pale, pale, pale and blue nails of this sort make me look like I have hypothermia!  But it would make a fabulous accent nail, or glitter tip!  Value $5.00

So all in all another great bag of stuff!  Total Value -> $38.75, and as you know Ispy's only $10 a month.  Join me on ipsy and subscribe to the Glam Bag! You get 4-5 beauty products every month delivered to your door ->Check it out here: HERE!

Let me know your thoughts below!

Ipsy March Bag Reveal!

Hello,

Yesterday was one of my favorite days - my Ipsy bag came for the month! yea!!!!!

This months bag theme was "Destination Beauty".  The bag was very colorful and specially designed for Ipsy by Klari.

I finally got something from Klorane!  Here's the description "Rich in soothing cornflower extract, decongesting arnica and chamomile, Klorane Smoothing and relaxing patches with soothing cornflower effectively reduce signs of tiredness from lack of sleep, a long day or sun exposure and instantly soothes and refreshes the eyes. Dark circles and puffiness are visibly reduced and the eye contour looks fresh and bright. Cool patches in refrigerator before use to increase effectiveness and enhance its refreshing effect."
I love eye patch masks - these usually come in a pack of 7 for $18 - so the value is about $5.14 as I got 2

Next bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie in "Get Ready" - This is a very my lips but better shade!

"Make an impact with Marvelous Moxie™ Lipstick. Creamy, super-saturated, ultra-pigmented color glides on like butter for full coverage in a rich satin finish. Lips look fuller and more voluptuous. An infusion of minerals revitalizes lips for a healthy-looking pout, while a moisture-loaded hydrating complex helps to nourish and condition with Abyssinian Oil and Omega Fatty Acids for supple, baby-soft smoothness. All the while, an encapsulated vitamin A, C and E complex helps to deliver antioxidant defense, so you’re ready for anything—and everything."

This IS very moisturizing, and it's a mini tube which I really like because I might actually use it all up :)  A full tube is $18 - so value ~$9

I also got a Nicole by OPI polish in On What Grounds - it a "Roughles" so it is a textured polish.  Would you believe I only have one other "textured" polish?  I'm a traditionalist what can I say - but I'll give it a try. Value $7

And finally an eyeshadow quad by Be a Bombshell in Bora Bora.  Oh these colors are soooo pretty!

The formula is buttery soft and these colors!  Value $16

So this month's bag was worth $37.14 - and as usual I was super pleased with everything I got!

Lash Gallery Mascara by em Cosmetics.  For those of you living under a rock - it's Michelle Phan's brand and has been received with pretty good reviews - in fact there are so many reviews I'm not going to say much about this or open it!  I want to keep it sealed til' I'm ready to use it.  Value - $20.  More than paid for the bag right there!

Then we have...

From BH Cosmetic's Galaxy Chic collection an eyeshadow in the color "Sun".  It is a gorgeous rose gold - love!!  I had convinced myself I didn't need the full palette but after seeing this... oh just take my money!  Value - apprx $1.20

Another brand I am always happy to get...

Be a Bombshell Lip Crayon in Shameless, it is a very smooth formula and the color is very, very wearable!  Value - $14

October Ipsy Subscription!

Hello,

I came home tonight and my Ipsy Bag was waiting for me!  I have been so good about not looking at anything related to Ipsy so I had no idea what to expect.  Plus for the last 3 months they have been doing more customized bags with like 10 different product options so you really don't know what you are going to get.

So this month's theme was "The Art of Beauty"

The bag is really cute and below it I placed a list of all the brands that could have been in the bag.

So what was inside?

First up Lip gloss from OFRA I don't know much about the brand so I checked it out -
"We provide a broad range of superior quality cosmetics created from the finest ingredients available. Our pro makeup is perfect for professional application and instruction, incredible under the camera, and fabulous for every day use. Our Body Glow products are wildly popular for a dramatic, striking all-over glow. Ofra Cosmetics has now developed a specialized line of advanced vitamin C-based skin care products for the professional as well. Our skin care line utilizes the newest innovations to combine natural, effective remedies with sophisticated technology, creating the perfect foundation for the most radiant makeup application."  It reminds me of Krylon if they sold skincare too.

This gloss has some color, it's not sheer which I like.  It also has a plumping effect (which I always love) and it definitely tingles!

Up next -

Nourish Organic lotion in "Coconut & Argan" - yea!  This feels great and I always am looking for a great lotion for my scaly winter legs.

Yea!!!! Ole Henrickson Truth Serum - I have been considering a new serum and this is one I wanted to try!  I will do a better review in a few weeks once I try it out.

The Zoya polish is Morgan and the color is a lovely plummy purple hybrid.

Here it is swatched and you can see it has shimmer in it too!  I'm definitely wearing this soon!

And finally...

From Sexy Hair - Spray Clay (what !?!) -

"Sexy Hair Spray Clay is a "next generation" of styling gives you the effect of clay in an easy to use spray form. Hold: 7, Shine: 1. Spray Clay allows for a fine and even application to achieve an allover texturized look and is great for all hair types needing added texture and movement with a dry, non-waxy hold."

I do not know what this will do... but I think it might be good for my hair as it sometimes too soft and needs some hold and shape.  We will see!

So once again I am so impressed with my little $10 subscription - plus I realy want to know more about OLFA!

What products would you like to get?

September Ipsy Reveal

Hello,

I just got my Ipsy bag for September filled with all sorts of good stuff and I wanted to share it.  This month's theme was "Classic Beauty".

Yay! So much good stuff!  There were about 10 different brands you could get this month, other brands were Victoria Jackson, pop beauty, Jessie's Girl, Skyn Iceland and more! I was of course very excited to have received a Butter London mini polish 😃

The polish is in the color "La Moss", which I am guessing is a reference to Miss Kate Moss?  It's a very deep burgundy - reminds me of Chanel's Vamp.  Great for fall.

I also got a Starlooks eyeliner in Obsidian - I really have been wanting to try Starlooks so this is awesome.  I got a mascara by Elizabeth Mott (a brand I have never tried) called "It's so BIG!" (really, really??),  It's supposed to lengthen and volumize without smudging - which I could really use right now, my mascara lately has been all over my face it seems.

I got a dusty purple NYX shadow in Morocco.  It is a very wearable color.

I was most excited to get Cailyn's tinted lip balm in "Big Apple" - this stuff is sooo nice it is so smooth, has a lips brush and it gives a great stain, love, love, love the color!

And here are swatches - from the bottom NYX in Morocco, Starlooks eyeliner in Obsidian and Cailyn lip balm in "Big apple", another great bag from Ipsy!  All these goodies for $10!  If you would like to Subscribe click HERE!

What item would be your favorite?

July Ipsy Bag - Beach Beauty!

Hello!

Today I got my Ipsy bag and once again I was super impressed!

This month's bag was different based on your profile and could have contained items from the following brands: Benefit, Coola, Demeter, derma/e, bh cosmetics, Nailtini, pop beauty & sexy hair.

I got the items below:

All sorts of fun!\

BH Cosmetics - California palettes $9.95/ value-  $1.50??

So first up - an eyeshadow palette from BH Cosmetics.  It has one shadow from each of their California Collection palettes.  You can buy a full palette for $9.95 on their site (with their current sale) and it has 16 eyeshadows and 4 blushes.

As you can see they aren't super pigmented, but they are pretty colors and very soft.  I built them up a bit, and over a primer they do quite well.  Plus I love the size, perfect for the @ work makeup bag!

Derma/e Microdermabrasion Scrub: Full size $32.50 for 2oz./ 1oz value - $16.25

This stuff is smells divine - lemony fresh. Here's the description from their website: "This salon-perfect formula uses an exclusive crystal blend including Dead Sea Salt and Volcanic Sand (rich in Silica) to buff away dull surface cells, help diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars, and absorb excess skin oils. Enriched with natural astringents Lime and Lemon Peel, and antioxidants Grapeseed and Vitamin E, this fine treatment product retexturizes skin leaving it soft, smooth and younger-looking." The "grit" is medium in my opinion - not harsh like St. Ives (which is terrible for your face - seriously.  That's why it's so cheap.)

I used a small bit on my hand - and it left it very soft.  If you have normal skin I would say you could use this once a week.  It's a bit pricey in my opinion for an exfoliant - but I will gladly use the 1 oz!

Coola Mineral Sunscreen: $36.00 for 1.7 oz/ .23oz = $4.87

I don't know much about Coola but here's the description from their website: "Keep the sun and environment at bay with this SPF 20 broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen; a clear, Titanium Dioxide based formula (for those who are Zinc sensitive) made with 98% natural ingredients. Organic Acai Oil - high in Omegas-3/6/9, Vitamins B1/2/3, plus antioxidant Vitamins C and E - delivers a powerful defense against aging. Organic Sunflower Seed Extract promotes elasticity while organic Linseed Oil, containing Alpha-Linolenic Acids, reduces redness and irritation. The phyto-protector Plankton Extract rejuvenates, as organic Cucumber Extract calms skin."
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Paraben Free
  • Ultra Sheer
  • Anti-Aging
  • Water Resistant (40 minutes)
  • No nano-sized particles
So it has a lot of oils in it - which will scare a lot of people but you know I love my facial oils. I will definitely use this up!

pop beauty Lip Crayon Full Size - $4.17 - Usually only sold in a set of 6 for $25

I got Coral Crush and it is a lovely color!

The consistency reminds me of the Revlon Balm Stains - and it's moisturizing like that, but it doesn't really leave that much of a stain.  I wish there were more colors of these available individually.

And finally...

Sexy Hair Weather Proof Spray 3.4 - $15.95/ 1.7 = $7.97

From their site:

"Big Sexy Hair Weatherproof Humidity Resistant Spray - Big Sexy Hair Weatherproof is a high-performance humidity resistant spray that promises to leave your hairstyles intact, removing any chance of humidity attacking mishaps."

Total Value of this months bag =$34.76

Once again I am so impressed and excited to use my goodies!

What did you get in your Ipsy bag?

Ipsy Spring Fling bag - May

Hello!

Last night I got my Ipsy bag!

The bag itself is my favorite so far - I love the colors and the chevron pattern.  They also "switched" it up a bit more this month and people received bags with items from different brands - I'm really interested to see what others got!

I got a Pacifica self tanner (which I won't use - because I choose Pale!). A gloss from juice beauty, a concealer from Yaby, setting powder from Mirabella and a Zoya polish!

I love that the Yaby concealer will fit into the Glam RX palette we got two bags ago, it's a little yellow for me (but most concealers are) but this will be just fine in a pinch!

The Juice Beauty gloss (I'm not sure of the color) is a fairly light mauve with sparkles, it's not too sticky and looks just like my lips are glossy and a bit sparkly when on.  I have soooo many glosses that I think my mom just got an extra Mother's Day gift.

And finally the Zoya polish in Julie - you can see the swatch on the nail wheel to the left.  It's a lovely light lavender with silver shimmer.  A very spring-y color.  And that's this month's Ipsy bag - not bad for $10!

April Ipsy Bag!

Hello!

My April Ipsy Subscription came and it's all about "Pretty in Pink"!  Yeah!

You can find "teaser" pictures ahead of time so I knew about the eyeshadow - but all the items are even more lovely in "real" life.

Above is the Nail Polish by Sation "Of Corset I'll Call You".  The first picture is one coat, the second two coats, & the third three.  The formula flows very nicely and I would expect a light color like this to take 3 coats.

Next we have:

Here is the "Heartbreaker" duo by Two Cosmetics.  The shadow on the left is a light pink shimmer (both shadows are more intense in real life - the sunshine seems to have muted the intensity).  The shadow on the right is a matte dusty rose.  These shadows are very smooth, and I love the colors!

We also received a be a ...bombshell blush in "sweet cheeks", it is a golden pink.  Nice pigmentation and blends out well.

We also received Health Sexy Hair Soy Renewal - I can't wait to try it.  And then I'll report back!

All in all - I am super pleased as usual!
