What is your favorite movie of all time?
The Sound of Music - it's about the only movie I can watch over and over.  I don't like watching movies over and over so that's saying something!

I think Christopher Plummer is so dreamy!

Hmmm I have a lot of them, but most are from Anchorman.

Ron Burgundy: Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got out of hand fast.

Well usually on girls night in we are talking so much we can't pay attention to a movie, but if I had to pick...which I do since I am writing this:

4. What is the best breakup movie?  This confuses me - as in movie ABOUT a break up or one you watch after you break up?

I can't think of many movies about a break up...um so The Break-up because it's set in Chicago.

That makes me want to check if it's on Netflix... it is but Not Streaming...Booooo!


5. Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life?

Kate Winslet hands down, I need to loose some weight in my face but there is a resemblance.



 6. Which movie star’s closet would you want to raid?
Victoria Beckham - say what you want but she has killer clothes.  I also want Christina Hendricks stuff!

I feel like I've been talking A LOT about myself since I started the Blog Everyday in May challenge, but here's some more for you!  (I have a review of a product tomorrow - I promised it wouldn't turn into a non-beauty blog!)

4 favorite things to do on a weekend
As I've mentioned I don't work a traditional work week so my weekend is Tues and Wednesday. So that means everything is open and quiet!
1) I love to sleep in!
2) I like to run all my errands in fell swoop (2 hours and DONE)
3) Read for like 4 hours uninterrupted
4) Make a special dinner on Tues night

1) Pay off any debt
2) Take a trip to the UK
3) Buy a new laptop

It's Sunday and time for Sunday Social!




This weeks questions are:

Did you sleepwalk as a child?
No...not as a child.  But I actually have a rare sleeping disorder called REM sleep behavior disorder which started when I was about 19 which means I am a crazy, crazy sleepwalker NOW if not medicated.  I have tried to leave the house, I have punched people in the face (while both they and I was sleeping), I have woken up in the kitchen naked surrounded by cereal boxes.  Yea, it's not cool - I make D@#^ sure I take my medicine every night and I also don't drink because of the medicine - which most people assume is because I have a "problem".  Ahhh genetics...

 Did you ever try to run away or sneak out of your house?
Run away - never! I knew my parents would be furious and just might not let me come back, they would take that seriously "You think its so bad here, then try and make it on your own." I actually never snuck out either.  My parents were STRICT, and they didn't mess around with discipline. I only played 2 games of basketball my 5th grade season and sat the bench the rest of the year for talking back to my dad. I was grounded for 8 weeks between my junior and senior year of high school for letting my checking account balance go below $50.  So I was very, very well behaved and I actually think that it helped make me a better person.
   
Did you have any imaginary friends?
No - I just read a lot which is kind of like having imaginary friends. :)

Did you ever go toilet papering?
Yes, once for Homecoming in high school. But I was scared S#!tl#$$ my parents would find out and so I threw one role and then went home with the other girls who were raised right :) The "bad" girls stole all sorts of lawn ornaments and realtor signs and such and I just thought that was mean! I mean some nice senior couple probably was really distraught their lawn deer were gone!

 Did you ever sneak tv shows you weren’t allowed to watch?
Once again - no.  Seriously I was an anxiety ridden child - I did not want to piss my parents off.  I'm a Libra and I swear I'm true to my sign, I just like balance, I don't like conflict.  So no 90210 for me, or MTV.  And again I read a lot, played sports, did student council and NHS and cheerleading so there wasn't a lot of free time.

What is your shopping weakness?
Really?!? Make-up it's definitely make-up, nail polish & and beauty supplies!  I rarely buy clothes, I used to buy a lot of shoes, but I finally feel like I have more than enough.  I still like to buy a new purse once a year.

What is your food weakness?
Carbs - and the worst kind available - Croissants & Candy.

What is your go to movie to watch when nothing is on?
I really don't like watching movies repeatedly, so I most often just turn on Netflix and watch a documentary or catch up on a series I wanted to watch.

What is your go to breakfast food?
Cereal - Raisin Nut Bran, Cracklin Oat Bran & Fruit Loops with Marshmallows (It Exists - but hard to find!)

Do you drink coffee? If so how do you take it?
No - I mean once and a while I will have some International Foods French Vanilla Café - but that's like coffee flavored cocoa.  I drink Diet Coke like people drink coffee - I need one in the morning on ice to get going - weird I know.

Happy Easter - to those who celebrate!  Its Sunday and time for Sunday Social!

Here are this weeks questions!

1. Favorite type of work out to do?
Yoga or swimming laps, I like non-impact exercise.  I'm telling you my knees are not what they were in my 20's.  

 2. Favorite guilty pleasure candy or sweet?
I'm not going to act like I don't eat candy everyday - no joke.  I always have a little bit of treats, so there isn't really a guilty pleasure one for me. 

 3. What is one thing you continuously forget to do?
Put my perfume on before I leave the house. 

 4. Posts its or phone reminders? Why?
Neither - I either just do it now, or it goes on my mental list for the day or my days off.  I am such a worrier that I don't need reminders.  Except for inane things like putting on perfume :)
 5. Favorite picture currently on your phone that always makes you smile
My kitty laying right up next to me like he always has to - he's a momma's boy.

My favorite thing is the change in weather - sunshine but not the heat!  And the rain brings flowers and green.

I like to grow roses (but I'm by no means good at it), I like to receive mixed bouquets.

Pink, Pink, Pink !

My favorite "active" outdoor activity is a nice nature hike.  My favorite "passive" activity is to lay in a hammock (in the shade) on a warm day and reading.

1. Favorite thing to do on a rainy day?
Sleep in, then have breakfast, read, sleep, read, sleep and maybe fit a movie in.

2. Favorite thing to do on a Summer weekend?
In my adult life I have rarely had "traditional" work schedules, so I rarely have Sat & Sun off.  But for the sake of this question what do I do with 2 days off in a row in the Summer... Sleep in then go have brunch with boyfriend, shop at interesting design oriented stores, and then when it gets dark and cooler go on a walk to go get Dairy Queen.  2nd day Sleep in, then go to botanical gardens and enjoy all the plants, lunch out on the town and then see a summer block buster movie.  If we aren't doing something like that we are usually camping. 

3. Favorite Spring accessory?
Delicate jewelry

4. Favorite way to spend a Winter day?
Same as a rainy day!  Except with more blankets!


5. What is your favorite season and why?
Fall!  I love the weather, the clothes, the release of cosmetic value sets for Christmas in October...

6. Best birthday you ever had?
When I was 25 I went to Vegas for 5 days with my good friend and saw Billy Idol in concert, it was a lot of sun, fun and drinking!


What's your favorite spring accessory?  It was hard for me to think of something "spring"?

1. What is one movie you are terrified to watch?
The Mothman Prophecies, my friend and I started to watch it like 10 years ago and just got the hebie jeebies and I'm scared!

2. What is one TV show you have always wanted to get into but haven’t yet?
I have 3 shows I have been meaning to start watching:
1) Downtown Abbey
2) Vampire Diaries
3)Scandal
 

3. What is one daring activity on your bucket list?
Para-gliding
 

4. Would you ever travel alone?
Absolutely!  I have done it quite a bit!  I've gone to L.A., Montana, North Dakota and all over the US by myself.  I think I would like to NYC next and then London!
 

5. What activities do you like to do alone?
Honestly, pretty much everything.  I am very happy in my own company, I dine out alone, go to movies alone.  I do have a boyfriend, and we live together, but we have differing schedules so... sometimes I just have to go it alone.  I especially like make-up shopping alone!

It is Sunday once again, and I am linking up for the Sunday Social!

1. Best Valentines Day you’ve ever had:
I don't usually do a big Valentine's day date so all I can think of was when I was in high school and we could send roses to our friends as a school fundraiser and I got like 1/2 a dozen from my (then) boyfriend and some from my friends and I had the MOST and felt really special! 

2. Worst Valentines Day you’ve ever had:
Honestly I don't put a lot of stock in it, so I've never had a BAD one.

3. What did you do for Valentines this year?
 We got Pizza from one of the best places in all Chicago (Pequod's) and gave each other cards and then watched some True Blood.  Not exciting but just right for us!

The beautiful bouquet of roses my boyfriend got me because "the ivory and peach tones remind me of your beautiful skin" awwww :)  he knows I'm vain about my skin and am a sucker for that kind of nonsense talk :)

4. Best Valentines Idea if you’re single:
Don't worry about it!  Just Love YOURSELF!  It is not worth stressing over, so treat it as a normal day and do something to improve yourself!

5. Favorite Valentines Candy?
Pretty much anytime!


6. Favorite Valentines Memory from your childhood:
I think it was 4th grade when we got to decorate Valentine mail boxes and run around the room and pass out Valentines that we had made.  Silly but I remember I has a Barbie on my box and I really liked it!

1. What was your first car?

I didn't have a car until I was 25!  But I lived in the city and didn't really need one - but I bought my first car for $300!  It was a Plymouth Horizon much like the one below

I know, I know, how cool was I?!?  But that thing ran so well and lasted me 3 years with no problems.

2. Who was your favorite childhood teacher? 

Is it terrible I don't have one?  I went to Catholic school and all the nuns were kind of mean.

3. Were you involved in any sports/extracurricular activities? Share pictures if you can!

This is where being old sucks - I need to scan all my childhood pictures in order to show anything (no digital cameras were even widely available until I was 23 or so.

But I was on the swim team, a cheerleader & I played softball one season (and they pretty much told me not to come back).  I was also the President of the Student Council and the Vice President of the National Honor Society and I did one play as well.  So I was a busy bee!

4. What was your favorite birthday party?
 When I was 4 (and I seriously think this is one of my first clear childhood memories because I was sooo excited) My mom got a bunch of frog themed hats and decorations and my grandparents came and everyone wore the frog hats and I just remember being so happy and I got a Lite-Bright and it was the best!

5. Who was your teen celebrity crush?
Chris O'Donnell - I thought he was super dreamy in Mad Love

6. What show/movie did your parents not allow you to watch?
I wasn't allowed to watch A LOT of stuff - I didn't watch any episodes of 90210 until I was 30!  I read a lot and always had school stuff so I didn't watch a lot of TV and I still don't watch much.  But I am on the Internet a lot so I'm still rotting my brain :)

1. If you were stuck on an island what are the two material items you would want to have?
A whole lotta sunscreen and a swiss army knife.

 
2. What are two TV shows you’d watch over and over?
I honestly can't think of any TV shows I'd like to watch over and over, I don't even like to watch movies more than once.

3. If your house was on fire what two things aside from family, pets, etc would you grab?
My Safe (it's like briefcase size) and my laptop.

4. What are your two most favorite articles of clothing?
My pink cotton summer strapless dress and my black fleece jacket.  (I seriously hate clothes, I love looking at fashion and I think other people look so cute, but putting an outfit together for me is like my kryptonite!) 

5. What two movies that you saw in the past year would you recommend to us?
Django Unchained and The Campaign 



6. What are your two biggest guilty pleasures?
I don't really have "guilty" pleasures... if I'm doing it I hope I don't feel guilty, I really don't like feeling guilty about things. But there are things I do that are time wastes or unhealthy - So taking long naps and eating croissants (and mean like 4 at a time).

I love beauty products and and I love sharing my knowledge of skincare and beauty tips with an audience that appreciates it!  It is so rewarding to be able to have a community that shares your interests and are into it enough to take the time to blog about it.

1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?

Yes!  More protein, and less carbs.  I'm also going to try and pack my lunch more often.

2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the Holidays?

Aerobics is key - and most people think you need to just do something aerobic for 20 minutes for it to count, but it you need to have your heart rate at an aeorbic pace for 20 minutes to be effective. 

3. Favorite thing you did over the Holidays?

Had a wonderful New Year's brunch with frineds.

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2013 that you did not in 2012?

To have over 100 GFC followers.

5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why:

1- Going to see Lady Gaga in concert!
2- Going camping in Yellowstone
3- Continuing my blog and making it even better :)

The lingering scent of cologne in a mans sweater - so when your close you smell it :)

The Chrysler commercial for the 200 - I thought it was really well done

Which ever day I have off!  My schedule is really random and I don't have a "weekend".

What is your favorite way to waste time?
The Internet, in all it's Candy Crush playing, pinteresting, blog reading, you tubing glory.

What is your favorite article of clothing?
A really soft Banana Republic T-shirt that I wear with some leggings when I'm chillin at home.

It's a picture of the lily pond at the Garfield Conservatory.

What do you keep beside your bed?
My cell phone, hairpins and hairbands, 3 kinds of lipbalm, whatever the current book is I'm reading, my eye cream and nightcream, and handcream, my glasses (when I'm not wearing them) & most likely a Diet Coke.

What is your least favorite chore?
Dusting ...arggg so tedious

If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be?
Trying to make my hair look presentable, I wish it would just behave.

What do you do to vent anger?
Yell (not at people just likea loud ARGGGGGG!) or go take nap and try to simmer down.

What is your favorite Holiday of the year and why?
Halloween, I love candy and costumes and Halloween parties and fall in general.

It's Sunday and I am once again linking up for the Sunday Social:

This weeks question have to do with the upcoming holidays - and although I am not a super, crazy Christmas loving person.  These questions made me think therefore I had to do it! :)

#1 What is your favorite Holiday season tradition? - This right here is why I'm not a big holiday person.  My family lives all over, my siblings and I are very far apart in age (I'm older than my youngest brother by 23 years).  So we never were really all together on the holidays, when I was little we would drive 8 hours to see my grandparents spend 1 day there and drive back.  So I don't really have traditions for Christmas...BUT my boyfriend & I have started a tradition where we go see his brother's band Burning Las Vegas where ever they are booked for New Year's so off to Louisville and the Galt House we will go this year :)

 

2. Do you have a certain Holiday movie you watch more than others? If so what is it? Ugg I'm such a downer, again I don't really watch ANY movie over and over.  I will say when the 10 Commandments used to come around on TV during Easter I used to always watch that.  A) Charleton Heston was a HOT Moses. B) I minored in Archaeology and the classic and it was movies like that that made me want to study the past.  So I don't know if that counts as a holiday movie, but I associate it with Easter.

 

 

3. Show us your favorite decoration or pinterest decoration you wish you could have:  I didn't have a Christmas tree until 3 years ago.  It's fake, it's white, and it's shaped like a tall triangle (Uber modern, I love it)  And I decorate it in peacock colors with only a few ornaments and an ornate peacock at the top so I love this ornament from Poshchicago.com

 

4. Favorite Holiday song? I really dislike Christmas music (ahhh this post is making me sound like such a Grinch!)  But I do like "White Christmas" and actually thinking about it I like that movie too!

 

 

5. Favorite Holiday dessert?  Sugar cookies, I should not even be allowed near them, I turn into cookie monster.
