Tarina Tarantino Haul

Hello,

A few weeks back Hautelook had Tarina Tarantino - and I had to splurge a bit.  I only discovered Tarina's cosmetics right at the tail end of them being sold at Sephora and I only got the DollSkin Cheek collection (AH-MAZING).  So I got a little more of everything.

First is one of the infamous Hyperliners in Ultraviolet

The color isn't exactly what I would call "Ultraviolet" to me it's more dark plum - but the formula is definitely Ultra!  And it was only $6.50!

It is sooo creamy - I don't like the pencil style (it is one of those weird plastic pencils) but their claim that it is waterproof more than makes up for it.  I don't usually do my waterline, nut it lasted a few hours and all day on the other areas of my eye - I really need to get my hands on more!

Then there's the jewelry box filled with wonders - only $32!  Score! You can still buy it on Tarina Tarantino.com for $50.

Primer, lip gloss, mascara & 16 gorgeous shadows!  Love!  So with the blushes I already have and the eyeliner I got I pretty much have everything I need for a full look!

Plus the cosmetics tray lifts out and there is more storage in the bottom - lovely and useful!

The Pearl Glow Primer is wonderful (especially for pale ladies like me!)

It also is a great primer and intensifies the color of the already gorgeous shadows - which are soooo smooth.

 

I swatched one of the champagne colored shadows on top and then under it over the primer - oh la la :)


The Gem Gloss is "Jewelry for your lips! This lipgloss is formulated to make your lips shine while moisturizing and plumping your pout! These amazing high shine glosses also come in a peach sorbet flavor!"

Alone it is just a nice punch of raspberry colored shimmer - but over a red lip pencil, sparkle glossy, drama!

So I think I got a great deal on some great products - keep your eye out for more sales on Hautelook!

Kat Von D Starry Eyes Autograph Pencil Set - Review

Today I wanted to share with you a set I picked up after Christmas!  I saw this and I loved the fact that they were minis because I have enough eyeliner as it is, and they were unique colors!

They are described as "Look like a star with this set of 10 gorgeous liners in wearable, trendsetting shades. The creamy, waterproof formula glides on smooth and delivers striking payoff for red-carpet-ready eyes"  They are definitely creamy - which is great, as I love to smudge my eyeliner in as I showed in this Eye Tutorial.  As for Waterproof... they don't stay on my waterline that well, but on my upper eyelid they are fine.

Easy Winged Eyeliner - Video!

Today I wanted to share my video on how to do a simple winged eyeliner look. This is basically my go to look and you get to see me wearing my glasses!

Milani Eye Tech Liner

Hello!

Today I want to share an eyeliner I really like - Milani Eye Tech ( I got mine at Target for $6.99). 

 

 

 

Although gel eyeliner is my preferred eyeliner, this is a very close second.  It has a very nice felt tip, and it is extremely black. 

 

 

You can create both thin and thick lines very easily.  It doesn't smudge, or flake and it stays true for about 6 to 8 hours. 

 

 

So if your looking for an alternative to liquid eyeliner, that can create a skinny or winged look, this may be right up your alley.

Birthday wishes... Ocho Loco!!

So today is my 34th Birthday! 
And I may have hinted a time or two that I wanted the new Ocho Loco eyeliner set from Urban Decay.  And guess what I woke up to:

Yea!  I just want to hug it!

All of the colors are fabulous!





So here are my swatches of the Ocho Loco set.  Three of the colors are what I'd call a Pearl finish - Mushroom, Hustle and Stash:

L to right - Mushroom, Stash and Hustle
Mushroom is a gorgeous taupe, perfect for a day, light smokey eye.
Stash- awesome olive tint
Hustle - a lighter brown, again a great day color, or to cut the crease for a brown smokey eye.
 

 Then we have the infamous rich matte black Perversion and 2 sparkle shades:

Left to Right - Perversion, LSD, Junkie
Perversion is BLACK, nuf said
LSD will be great for a bite of color
Junkie is my favorite shade of teal and would look great over a matte peach shadow I think...
 

And finally the other two "matte" shades Psychedelic Sister and Rockstar:

As a girl with green eyes purple is my friend!
Psychedelic Sister is a lovely lavender blue purple
Rockstar is a gorgeous deep plum a great alternative to black
 

Overall this whole set is a hit with me and I can't wait to creat some new looks with these!

Maybelline Master Drama Cream Eye Pencil - is a bit soft but stays strong

Hello:

I've been looking for a Holy Grail eye pencil for just doing the basics.  Everything I have either fades too quickly or "drags" across my eyelid and I feel like you work too much for an eyeliner. Anyhoo...

 Maybelline describes the product as:
Experience the new generation of liner~          
• Oil-free cream formula holds the highest concentration of pigments for more intense eye drama.
• Smudgeproof and waterproof for 16 hours.
• Most intense line for lasting drama.
• Safe for sensitive eyes and ophthalmologist-tested.
• Contact lens safe.

It's funny they say "smudgeproof and waterproof for 16 hours" and then on the packaging it says 24 hour wear.  I wore it for about 14 hours and it looked the same from beginning to end.

It is a really creamy formula so it glides on but it also may smudge right away, (which it happened) so I nudged into place with a brush.  For some real lasting power I would put a black eyeshadow over it to set it.  And that nice sharp point you see above that is the only time you'll see it, because you can't sharpen it.

 You can get two different widths of line by using it straight on or wide by angling it sideways, and after it drew these lines on my hand for the picture it was about 5 miuntes before I washed it off and it lives up to its waterprrof claim, it took a bit of scrubbing to get it off.

But you do get a nice black line that can be smoothed with a brush.  It's not the Holy Grail I was looking for but, it works well enough for it's $6.49 price tag.  You can check it out at Target Here.
