Today I wanted to go over my night time skin care routine and then tomorrow I'll post my day routine. If you have any questions about the products used in this video let me know! I will also list them below because you can't see the bottle all that well during the video. And the background noise you hear during the video - my 2 cats fighting. Oh and I'm not wearing lip gloss, it's my night balm - Blistex Five Star Lip Protection, I kinda like how it looks :)
Boots Botanicals Soothing Eye Makeup Remover Lancome Huile Doucer Face Cleanser Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Serum Lancome Collaser 5x Serum Lancome Genefique Eye Cream Boots No7 Moisture Quench Day Cream (now called Beautiful Skin, I believe)
So do you use any of these products? How do you feel about oil cleansers? How old do I really look! Seriously, no seriously I want to know!
Tomorrow I will reveal my day routine - exciting I know!
Today's lips are brought to you by Maybelline's new Vivids (a part of the Color Sensational line). There are a lot of really great colors in this collection but I limited my self to one - Vibrant Mandrin.
The color looks just like that - in real life - almost neon. But as you can see in the swatch it's not so frightening out of the tube, in fact I think it look fabulous on! It's a lovely pink/coral with a bit of extra punch.
My only complaint would be that the pigment settles on any dry spots on your lips, so just like most vibrant lipsticks, a good exfolliation and bit of balm is necessary beforehand. I can't wait to try Neon Red from the vivids collection!
I was going to attempt a jelly sandwich today (see Here), but the glitter polish I got was suspended in a light teal base, not clear, and it didn't have large enough glitter sooooo.... Here's what I ended up with instead.
This is two coats of Essie's Marshmallow, with two coats of Spoiled Use Protection over it and a top coat of Sally Hansen Diamond Flash. It's ok, I have been loving pastels lately and this has more sparkle than is showing up in the pictures.
1. If you were stuck on an island what are the two material items you would want to have? A whole lotta sunscreen and a swiss army knife.
2. What are two TV shows you’d watch over and over? I honestly can't think of any TV shows I'd like to watch over and over, I don't even like to watch movies more than once.
3. If your house was on fire what two things aside from family, pets, etc would you grab? My Safe (it's like briefcase size) and my laptop.
4. What are your two most favorite articles of clothing? My pink cotton summer strapless dress and my black fleece jacket. (I seriously hate clothes, I love looking at fashion and I think other people look so cute, but putting an outfit together for me is like my kryptonite!)
5. What two movies that you saw in the past year would you recommend to us? Django Unchained and The Campaign
6. What are your two biggest guilty pleasures? I don't really have "guilty" pleasures... if I'm doing it I hope I don't feel guilty, I really don't like feeling guilty about things. But there are things I do that are time wastes or unhealthy - So taking long naps and eating croissants (and mean like 4 at a time).
Today I wanted to share my January empties! And as I am trying to improve my YouTube poweress - I filmed it. If you watch it on YouTube, feel free to subscribe to my channel :) I am really going to try to make more videos this year and considering this is my second one this week I'm off to a good start! So also let me know what kind of videos you would like to see.
Here are the products I talked about in the video: Items I used in January! Skin Renewal - Witch Hazel 16.7 oz AHAVA Dead Sea essentials Aloe Vera body lotion 17 oz Skin Effects Brightening Gentle Foaming Cleanser 6.6 oz ANEW Rejuvenate Flash Facial 1 oz Matrix Vavoom Freezing Spray 2.5 oz L'oreal Youth Code Day Lotion SPF 30 1.7oz Evian Facial Spray 50 ml Tom Ford Violet Blonde EDP sample
Today I wanted to share the 4 perfumes I chose to wear for the month. Nat from Gl0ssy did this last month so I got the idea from her, and I think it's a great way to use your perfume instead of just letting it sit, which I do to often.
So here are the chosen four!
White Musk (by the Body Shop) - "A soft and velvety signature scent for every woman, every moment. Forever sensual." I'm also going to use the lotion because I like to layer :)
Lovely (by Sarah Jessica Parker) - "An alluring and flowery fragrance from renowned actress Sarah Jessica Parker, Lovely for women is a deeply evocative scent that carefully balances a subtle tone with fruity and musky elements".
Breathless (Victoria's Secret) -"The fragrance features sandalwood, pomegranate blossom, mandarin orange and
neroli." I also am going to layer this one with the lotion.
Ellen Tracy (by Ellen Tracy) -"Ellen Tracy is a Oriental Woody fragrance for women. Top notes are plum,
green notes, galbanum, osmanthus, peach, hiacynth, bergamot, lemon and cinnamon;
middle notes are aldehydes, tuberose, orchid, orris root, jasmine, ylang-ylang,
lily-of-the-valley, rose, freesia and carnation; base notes are sandalwood,
amber, musk, oakmoss, raspberry, cedar and tonka bean." There's a whole lot of things in this one!
So since there are 28 days in February that gives each one 7 days of wear, I hope to make at least a little dent in each of these!
This week I read "Thirteen Reasons Why" by Jay Asher~
Here is the synopsis from Goodreads.com ~"Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers thirteen cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, debut author Jay Asher weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect teen readers."
My thoughts ~ For at least half the book all I could think is "they are making suicide sound like a game." I don't think the author intended it that way but overall I think most people don't like to hear about suicide so this can be a hard book to read and I empathize with Hannah at the end. I heard they are making this into a movie and I just think that it may come across as a valiant act of retribution. Now I definetly need to read something cheery!
