MOTW - Sinful Colors Island Coral

Hello!

This week's Manicure (hence MOTW - Manicure of the Week) is brought to you by Nat from Gl0ssy, who has wonderful taste in nail polish and many other things, so check out her blog!

Nat had asked me about the consistency of Sinful Colors nail polishes and I said they were hit or miss, I would love your comments below on what you think about Sinful, because I can't make up my mind.  She also reminded me that I had posted Island Coral (Here) in my summer nail polish haul and what was it like... so here it is!

I got it at Walgreens and I'm pretty sure I paid $1.99.

It is definitely a "pink" coral  I traditionally think of coral as more like this:

But since it's "Island" coral maybe that's different :)

On the left is "daylight" and on the right indoor lighting, so the color is pretty similar no matter the light.  This particular polish was a little thick going on and it took three coats to achieve full opacity.  Like I said Sinful is touch and go for me, I tend to only get it if I LOVE the color because I know it's not the best formula but it's cheap and pretty, and I can make it work.

So what's your Sinful Experience?

  1. This is such a pretty colour! It's so hard finding the perfect coral. I've never tried Sinful Colors before, but they're on my list. I literally just asked my bf if we can go over the border in the spring because I'm wanting everything you post haha.

  2. Tee hee ;) Ty Twin! The couple colours I have aren't very good, both kind of watery but I do like this colour a lot! I am excited to get some cross border shopping done, I usually go a few times a year

    2. Thank you ;) And I have noticed that as well, just means we have good taste lol. I hope Target in Canada will be comparable to what is in the US, but as I know life they will probably not carry everything the US stores do which is okay because I enjoy my trips to the US for my shopping fix! And yes, I am sure we can use a good instructor here so tell them to send you over, but warning you might like it here so much you may not want to go back :P Our money is colourful!

  3. Found your blog through gl0ssy! I have tried two Sinful Colors polishes and have found that the two colors I got were not very good quality. I feel like they are almost like painting acrylic artist paint on my fingers. I have to paint a few layers for opacity and a top coat is a MUST if I want them to look glossy at all. Perhaps I might have more luck with another color in their collection! I sure do love the price point. :D

  4. I love this color! I stopped using SC though because all of the shades seemed to require at least three coats, even the darker ones. And then they needed a lot of topcoat for glossiness and chip-proofing. They're okay I suppose but I'd rather pay a few dollars more for a better quality polish if it's a color I know I'll wear a lot!

  5. Hi I am following you from the hop and really like this color nail polish. It does look tropical and festive. for me it is perfect for Carnival.
I would love for you to follow along.
