Hello,
I found this fun, quick quiz and thought I'd share!
There is also a link up on Two Thirds Hazel and you can read about a bunch of other fun bloggers there too!
Also, can we think of some better women to compare ourselves to, actually I think we need to stop comparing and just BE the women we want to be!

25 Random Facts tag!
Hello!
The lovely Christine at Little Red Bow tagged me to to a 25 Random Facts post. First and foremost you should check out her blog, she is stylish, can rock a red lip and always has great posts - then you can read about my nonsense :)
So here are 25 Random tidbits about me -
1) I can speak Spanish, BUT I really can only hold a conversation about skin care or vacation-y stuff.
2) I can't draw to save my life (well maybe like stick figures)
3) I really like to cross stitch
4) I read before I go to bed every night, mostly fiction and non-fiction. I have a widget on the left side of my blog from Goodreads.com so you can always see what I am reading!
5) People either tell me I seem really serious all the time or that I'm really funny. Actually I'm like a mean 75 year old lady yelling about "kids these days" on the inside.
6) I love naps.
7) I have a rare sleeping disorder (major sleepwalker) I also see things that aren't there (while half asleep) and have conversations about them.
8) My dream job would have been to be a Soap Opera star.
9) I think if I went on the Price is Right I would win big.
10) I am naturally blonde, but in the last three years I have had red and then black hair. Fortunately, my amazing hairstylist can make this happen without a lot of damage.
11) Obviously I look very different depending on how much makeup I am wearing. Seriously, it's like being 2 different people.
12) I have lived in 5 different states (MN, IL, WI, MT & WA) and thus have taken the driving exam 5 different times. And the tests are different, which makes no sense to me, shouldn't driving laws be standardized?
13) I question a lot of things, and if you ask me what I am thinking about at any given time it's probably pretty random.
14) I prefer cold weather to hot, and cloudy to sunny days.
15) I want to live in New York City for at least a few years.
16) My cat sticks his tongue out when he's relaxed and I always take pictures because it cracks me up.
17) I don't have an Ipod, Iphone or any of that business, I'm just not into it (because I'm an old lady inside and don't like "new fangled technology") Actually, I just don't use my phone that much and I rarely listen to music and I don't need an "app" for everything I do.
18) I really struggle to take pictures of my makeup looks for my blog - I can't figure out how to get my eye make-up to show up "True to life" and not all washed out.
19) I take my skincare very seriously, and I always wash my face before bed (and apply eye cream, serum and moisturizer), no matter how late, if I've been out drinking (rare), or I'm traveling.
20) I love candy, (like Swedish fish, Sprees, sour straws and jelly belly jelly beans) not so much chocolate unless it's dark.
21) If you give me a recipe I can cook it, if it involves baking, maybe not so much.
22) I make delicious deep fried pickles.
23) I am a night owl (if you ever see an early post by me, it was prescheduled).
24) I'm thinking about getting an esthitician license
25) Creating this blog was one of the best decisions I ever made.
So there you have it - a lot of really random things. I know I love reading posts like this so I'm going to tag some ladies I find very interesting (but feel free to do this if you like) and if I tagged you and it's not your thing it's ok too. It's all cool, this is a safe place.

10 Day You Challenge - Last 6 in One!
Hello!
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are having a lovely day no matter if you celebrate it where you are or not.
I started the 10 Day You Challenge in the beginning of October and obviously I didn't complete it in 10 days. So I thought I'd link up with Blog Love Therapy today and finish it all up.
So I last posted about 7 Wants - and now I am on to :
6 Places
I could easily pick 6 places I want to visit, but I there are great places I have been that I would happily be. So I am going to do 3 and 3.
The first 3 are places I have been to and LOVE:
#1 Yellowstone National Park -
Yellowstone is just amazing to me - it has so many amazing geographical elements as you can see in the illustration above. I love camping there, It just is like a wonderland to me.
#2 Ruby Beach, Washington State:
Another place that is just lovely and sooo peaceful to me. It was sunny the day I was there and I found a huge tree that was laying on the beach and it was basically driftwood (so very soft) and I just rested on it and watched the waves and it was one of the most peaceful and relaxing hours of my life.
#3 Abu Simbel, Egypt
I was lucky enough to spend a week in Egypt and although the pyramids, and Luxor Temple are amazing - Abu Simbel is MAGICAL. When you see it, it leaves you awestruck, and just blown away that this was created thousands of years ago, and the architectural intricacies are mind blowing. I truly don't have the words to describe it.
And three places I want to see:
LONDON - I know I was British in another life! I took my current job on the chance we may go public and I wouold get to possibly move to the UK to do start up training.
Hong Kong:
So little space so much Amazingness and technology and luxury!
Kyoto, Japan:
Beautiful Architecture and Natural Beauty and just history overflowing!
So that's my six places! Onto 5 foods!
5 Foods:
The thing about food is I don't really LOVE anything... I just eat a lot of crap because it's easy. Chips or carrots I don't care, whatever is lying about, but these things I will always say yes to:
#1) Diet Coke - indeed just for the taste of it!
#2) Candy - I have a terrible sweet tooth
#3) Croissants -
#4) Chips and Salsa (but the salsa needs to be Mild and not "saucy")
#5) Panera Cinnamon Crunch Bagels
Not very exciting - so onto 4 Books-
4 Books:
I love Books! I have read over 500 in the past 10 years. I keep a book diary and I am on book #519 since 2003. It's actually not that hard for me to pick just 4 as there are very few books I have absolutely LOVED. Here are four that I think are among the greatest I have ever read:
1) Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
2) Random Family - Adrain Nicole Leblanc
3) Snow Flower & the Secret Fan - Lisa See
4) The Glass Castle - Jeanette Walls
Let me know if you read any of these and what you thought :) Now if you are still reading on to 3 films:
3 Films:
#1) The Sound of Music
I love the songs, the scenery and Captin VonTrapp
#2) Anchorman
Best one liners, Best fight scene and the CLOTHES!
#3) Secretary
James Spader as I imagine him to be ... wonderful.
2 Songs:
I am not hugely into music (GASP I know!) So I'm just going to go with songs I have loved for a long time and don't tire of listening to.
#1) All I ask of you - Sarah Brightman
#2) Vogue - Madonna
AND FINALLY!

Beauty Bloggers Headquarters - Why I started blogging...
Hello!
I just found out about Beauty Bloggers Headquarters and decided to join the group! Here's what it's all about (from their site): "This blog was created solely as a tool to help out our fellow bloggers, this is just a friendly community where we can share our experiences, tips and how-to's for building your social media accounts, blogs, websites, etc." Click the button above to check it out!
The first task is to get to know each other and why we started our blogs so here are my answers:
How long have you been blogging? I have been blogging since January of 2012.
What/who inspired you to start blogging? I had been reading Temptalia.com, bowsandcurtseys.com, prettymaking.com, and thebeautifullifeofthegirlnextdoor. Now my make-up skills are no where near these ladies and I don't have the buying power of Christine at Temptalia, but I realized there was definitely a "place" for my knowledge. I have worked as a makeup artist and skincare consultant, I am VERY fair skinned, and I am in my mid thirties. There are not a lot of blogs that address skincare/makeup from my point of view, or do really long trials like I do, showing my bare face and the results after weeks of use.
Did you tell your family and friends about your blog? No. Only a very few people who know me know about the blog and I think only 3 have ever read it. Hi Enid!
If so, what was their reaction? I think Enid, (the only one who reads it on occasion) liked that I share both high and low end products and that I knew about a lot of skincare products. My boyfriend also knows about the blog and he's supportive. Everyone else is in the dark. I think most people would think I would write a blog about books (which I do feature on Fridays).
What goals or dreams did your have for your blog when you started? I just wanted to find an outlet for one of my passions, I wanted to be able to help just one person find the right thing! As many beauty bloggers will tell you, the comments people leave mean SOOO much, and to be able to "talk" to other bloggers that are "beauty junkies" that "get it" means a lot. My goal was and always will be to try out products and show how they actually perform.
Have you accomplished them? I actually get comments pretty regularly now and have made some bloggin' friends so yes! But now I want to create more videos, and bring in Guest writers (my hairstylist and aesthitician friends). Because Hair is Not my thing! :)
If you could give your beginner-blogger-self one tip of advice, what would it be? Ok, if you didn't grow up with internet because you're "old" like me, really search around for the best platform (Wordpress,Blogger, LiveJournal....) and pick a name that you can use for multiple sites (twitter, facebook etc) and have it all set up before you start. Also, don't do this if you don't want to do it for YOU and only YOU. I knew for months that literally NO ONE was reading my blog, but I was doing it for me and a record of my experiences so it never bothered me. It should be fun and organic, if you feel like posting is going to be a chore after a few months, it's probably not for you.
What is your favorite and least favorite thing about being a blogger? My favorite thing is finding other blogs to read! If I follow a blog it means I actually read it EVERY time they post. My reading list is long but they are all talking about things I'm interested in so it's like a really good book that never ends :) My least favorite thing....It's that I don't know enough about Photoshop or internet things to make my blog better! I want to have a cool side bar or links to my Pinterest etc... but I don't know how! Hence why I joined BBHQ.
What does your blog name mean? Formosa Candidus means Pale (white) Beauty in Latin. But I also have the title "green eyed monster" at the top because I don't have to explain it, and I have very green eyes (and I'm a bit of an opinionated monster, as you'll see below) :)
How did you decide on it? I have a minor in the Classics and I always wish being pale was appreciated now like it was even 50 years ago (500 years ago I would have been so hot!)... I don't think having to bake your skin is pretty. So I wanted to represent classical beauty and show what you need to take care of pale skin and let people feel ok about being fair. I hear all the time how I look sick because I'm so light, or that I glow in the dark and I should tan a bit to look "healthier". No. No. No. I am Formosa Candidus!
Hope you all found that a little interesting if you made it through! And check out all the other blogs at http://beautybloggerhq.blogspot.com/

The A to Z's of Me
Hello:
Whenever I come across a new blog that I think I might want to subscribe to (which is a big decision for me, as I ACTUALLY read the blogs I'm subscribed to everyday) I always check out the "About Me" section on their blog. Which got me thinking about my About Me section and how it really doesn't describe me at all! So I decided to do an About me post. Here are my A to Z's ~

B- Bed Size: Queen
C - Chore I dislike: Mowing the Lawn
